Getting your allergy shots at MIT Health

Have you been getting allergy shots from another provider? Want to transfer your allergy care to MIT Health?

Here’s how:

  1. Have your current allergist send us the following information from your medical record:

    • Your current immunotherapy extract contents, with proper labeling and expiration dates
    • Your administration/injection record or flow sheet with administration dates and doses
    • Related protocols for shot administration: late dosing, reactions, seasonal holds, and new vial dose adjustment
    • Most recent provider visit note
    • Your asthma and/or allergy diagnoses as well as skin and/or RAST test results
    • A recent pulmonary function test (if available).

  2. Call 617-253-4481, option 7 to schedule an initial appointment with our allergist. You can schedule this appointment before you arrive on campus. At this appointment, our allergist will review your records with you and let you know if we are able to meet your needs. If so, we’ll schedule your injection appointments based on the protocol you were following with your previous allergist.
  3. Once you have met with our allergist, have your current allergist ship your extracts overnight, via cold storage, to MIT Health.
