Getting care in Lexington

If you work at Lincoln Laboratory, live west of Cambridge, or just want to avoid the traffic hassles of driving into the city for routine healthcare visits, give MIT Health’s Lexington Care Center a try. 

The Lexington Care Center, on the campus of MIT Lincoln Laboratory, is a friendly and accessible medical practice open to all employees with an MIT-sponsored health plan and their covered family members.

Clinicians at the Lexington Care Center provide a complete range of primary care services to adults and children of all ages. You can also make Lexington appointments for:

  • Routine laboratory tests: Blood draws are available weekdays, 8:30 a.m.–noon; call ahead to confirm phlebotomist availability. Laboratory analysis is performed at MIT Health’s Laboratory in Cambridge.
  • Travel medicine: MIT Health’s Lexington Care Center is a certified travel clinic, providing vaccinations, medications, and other travel-related care.
  • Routine gynecological exams, including pap smears.
  • Minor outpatient surgical procedures, such as biopsies and wart and mole removal.
  • Occupational medicine and care for work-related illness or injury. (Employees seeking work-related tests, procedures, or treatment must come to the appointment with an Occupational & Environmental Medicine Request Form signed by their supervisor.)

Urgent radiology services are available at Beth Israel Deaconess Healthcare in Lexington, a five-minute drive from the Lexington Care Center. All patients of the Lexington Care Center are also eligible to use the services at our Campus Care Center or to use outside specialists of their choosing.
