The Urgent Care Service at MIT Health’s Campus Care Center is open from 8 a.m.–8 p.m. Monday–Friday, and from 10 a.m.–4 p.m. on weekends (holiday hours may vary).
You can visit Urgent Care for urgent but non-life-threatening emergencies, such as high fever, earaches, or sprains.
Your visit to Urgent Care
When you need to visit the Urgent Care Service, you can walk in, register, and wait for the next available clinician, or go online to reserve your spot in line. The Urgent Care Service can usually care for both children and adults, but if you’re planning to bring a child to Urgent Care, call 617-253-1311 first to make sure a pediatric clinician is available.
Eligibility and cost
MIT Health’s Urgent Care Service is available to all members of the MIT community. Employees and family members covered by the MIT BCBS PPO+ plan will have a $10 copay. For all other employees, including those covered by a non-MIT-sponsored insurance plan, out-of-pocket cost is determined by your individual coverage, and you may be billed for any copayment, coinsurance, or non-covered services.

MIT Health is always available by phone at 617-253-1311. You can call 24 hours a day for guidance on what to do if you or a family member has an urgent medical problem.
When you call, a triage specialist may either:
- Answer your questions, give you advice, and/or explain what you should do immediately at home,
- Ask you to come in to MIT Health’s Urgent Care Service or offer you a same-day appointment with one of our primary care providers, or
- Direct you to the nearest emergency room.
