If you’re sick or have an urgent but non-life-threatening injury, MIT Health offers several options:
- Come to Urgent Care. MIT Health’s Urgent Care Service is on the first floor of E23 (25 Carleton St., Cambridge) and is open from 8 a.m.–8 p.m., M–F and 10 a.m.– 4 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays. Free parking is available in our lot. You can walk in to Urgent Care and wait to be seen by an available clinician, or you can reserve a spot online.
- Make a same-day appointment with Primary Care. We hold same-day appointments open for people who are sick or hurt. Call 617-253-4481, and describe your symptoms to a triage nurse. If you need to be seen immediately, the nurse will schedule a same-day appointment with a clinician who has an opening.
- Call our helpline. If it’s after hours, and MIT Health is closed, you can call our 24-hour helpline any time of the day or night at 617-253-4481 and speak to a triage nurse. Describe your symptoms in detail, so the nurse can give you advice about what to do next.
Go directly to a hospital emergency room or call 911 for such symptoms as chest pain, difficulty breathing, severe abdominal pain, or injuries that may be serious, such as a bad fall or head trauma with loss of consciousness.
